I'm the head coach of our 9th grade team and our middle school team in a fairly affluent football program. We provide the kids with pretty much all required equipment other than the cleats. As expected varsity gets the newest equipment, JV is next in line, and then the 9th grade and middle school teams get what is left over. One of the parents, wants to buy his son a top of the line helmet. This is probably a good idea since his son has a good chance to be my starting QB, and he is quite an athlete so I plan on running him and riding his legs quite a bit. Not to mention all of the issues with concussions lately, so safety is extremely important. Money aside, what is the best helmet for a QB?
Thanks

I like the Riddell Speed 2 or any of the Schutt Dna type helmets. We have a mix of both just because some kids heads fit differently in different helmets.

I don't think different positions really need different helmets, do they?
