I took up the offer to be a student-assistant for Texas Tech Football.
So far my job responsibility is working with Coach Dennis Simmons, the special teams/recruiting coach for Tech. It has been a blast to say the least. I've met lots of coaches including Mike Leach himself and watch the players in practice. Basically right now I'm handling helping the kickers by retrieving balls, assiting in the special teams part and mainly watching (staying out of the way) and learning how this ship sails. I'm privleged to see one of the best offensive minds in action. In the season, I'll be helping out Coach Simmons' top assistant (he's been in the program for two years) by breaking down film, the kicking game mostly of the opponents, making scouting reports and assisting. A lot of this stuff goes to not just Coach Simmons but Coach Ruffin McNeal the special teams/defensive coordinator and defensive tackle coach.
I'm sure that even when more months go along I'll even help out more in the recuriting phase maybe even into as a Graduate Assistant, I'll help out along defense and learn from McNeal himself.

Thank you all very much for your advice.
There's a topic called: Gameplan for Opponent's Special Teams? I really could use that advice to because I never had any part of special teams other than field goal.
