How was it?
We went down there as a staff a couple of years ago as we were installing the triple option and flexbone as our base and they were more than willing to take time out of their days to help us.
We were thoroughly impressed with them. I would assume the clinic would be on par.

It was great. 50 bucks for your staff. Includes lunch, dinner and drinks. Learned alot and got to talk with the hc one on one for about fifteen minutes. Asked him about specifics on recruiting. The information was great. The drills they ran at practice taught me alot. If your a 43 guy cover 2 you would love it. We will be back next year. Taking my son to the day camp in july.

I have a lot of family in that area, so it would be easy for me to attend. I am a 4-2-5 guy who runs some Cover 2 concepts, so there would definitely be some carryover.

I would recomend the camp. Even if you don't run a 43. Alot of drills you learn. Watching them practice and seeing the different tackling drills was worth it all by itself. They had a san jose state coach talk about cadence and how you can effect the game. You wouldn't think much about cadence but after the coach finished his segment it made you really think. Definitely come out next year, you wont regret it.

ya its great. 50 bucks a staff. I get my moneys worth in food. All you can eat tritip dinner. Its awesome. Beautiful weather, beautiful city. I look forward to it every year.
The staff is great. Helpful and friendly. And you can always learn a ton from them regardless of scheme. Dont be scared by the flexbone label- they run option out of everything. Helpful scheme stuff for all offenses.
I look forward to seein yall next yr!

Cal Poly joins the Big Sky Conference in 2012. Hopefully some regional tv games for 2012 season.

Hard to tell there starting qb was out minor injury so they had a red shirt freshman taking snaps. He was nervous, but I would be nervous if I was lining up against three linebackers that where 6'3 230.lol

I saw a game on tv last year vs North Dakota. The were primarily flexbone. They were uptempo and would shift into gun and fire off some plays. Announcer said 2011 qb was Snopp Dogs cousin. Not sure if that guy is back.
FYI- Rich Ellerson (Army) was HC @ Cal Poly from 2001-2008

The Cal Poly staff does a great job. They are a very fast tempo option team. They run all the base flexbone plays, but will align and shift into different looks. They add alot more smoke and mirrors to their offense than most flexbone teams. The thing that is a real b*tch about their offense is how fast and physical they play. The flexbone itself is a meat grinder for a defense. If you do it at a breakneck pace, it will beat the crap out of a defense.
