What are some things that you do to build up the gameday atmosphere?
Examples could be music over the speakers, school sponsored tailgates, the band playing pre game, fireworks...
One thing we used to do before big games was have the team walk through the hallways with the drum line playing their stuff. We walked through every hallway and everyone came out and cheered. It was a big hit.
I'm trying to get some new ideas to build up an electric environment on Fridays. Don't limit it to the Friday night either. It could be unique things you do at pep rallies, during school, anything that you feel contributes to a better gameday atmosphere.

A few years ago I worked at a school in a small town where the field was approx 1 mile away. We were escorted by the local police, county sherriff, Hiway patrol, and a "Bomber" which is the schools mascot, the varsity players were on the greyhound the school owned, thunderstruck by AC/DC blaring on the speakers, people lined the streets, no one talks on the bus and when we got to the field the music was stopped, all stood, and then a captain would say "strap up" you couldnt hear anything but the snaps clicking as they strapped their helmets on..... Prior to leaving the fieldhouse at the school its self and going to the field, lights turned off,in the air tonight plays, the coach gives a speech to get the kids pumped, at the moment in the song where the drums play and the music gets more intense the kids jump up and start yelling and jumping up and down.... Gives me chills to think about all this again!!!!

We walk to the stadium. Its about a block from the locker room. The team is led by one of the players carrying a flag with a big W. The team walks in a mob taking up the whole road (its a small town). they start yellin stuff and get all fired up. Its a cool scene.
The locker room itself is an experience in itself. One of the coaches brings his speakers and the kids blast their music. Some start dancing a lil bit, whatever. We're real loose and the music helps keep them cool. We even bring the speakers on the road. It started last yr after that team had started 2-2 due to slow starts. The coaches started lookin to do something to help pregame mentality. So one of the coaches brought those speakers and we havent lost since. lol must be the speakers!
