I am trying to put together a coaches clinic specifically for youth coaches. I have already lined up a couple of very good local high school coaches to speak on topics that I feel will translate well to the youth level.
Does anyone have any advice setting up something like this?

If you cover team management, make sure to mention 1millionteams.comThe parents love it and I won't coach without it. Save 25 phone calls whenever I want to give the parents information.

Rantoul, IL We're just outside of Champaign.
I am lucky that a two of the high school coaches that I have asked to speak have experience coaching youth ball. I am however looking for a couple of more speakers and will keep that advice in mind.

Coach As a Head Football coach at a High School, We are now in our 3rd Year for Youth Coaching Clinics and continue to improve our clinic. I would suggest that it is important to limit classroom instruction as in Xs and Os and concentrate in having the HS coaches teach on the field, ( I bring in all the HS coaches in town to speak and make it a community affair) so break it up into Oline technique, RB technique etc....the most important one IMO is to teach multiple drills for correct tackling......have the HS coaches bring their own players so the youth coaches can actually see the drill during the instruction....per other posters it is also important to talk character, academics, parental relationships etc...alot of these coaches are dads that certainly want to help but they need to look at the whole picture and what youth sports is all about...I charge a minimal $25 just to cover costs...
Good luck!!!
