Cool story I had to share.
Last Wed. in the weight room, I saw some competitiveness. Pretty soon everyone started betting, "A COOKIE"
"If you can lift that 15 times I'll go buy you a cookie!" Nobody could do what was asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~BRAIN WORKING~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday I brought in a pack of Double Stuff Oreo.
We put 135 on the bench bar and here was the deal: Lift it 10 times....get a cookie. 20....2 cookies 25....3 cookies 30....4 cookies
THEN...the top 5 got an extra cookie and their name on the board.
Kids worked harder than I have ever seen!!! Guess it was worth the $2.99!!!
Kids will do most anything for free food or a T-shirt.
Whatever works. Blb's right, food really motivates kids. Personally, I wouldn't do it for a double-stuffed but I'll do damn near anything for fudge covered Oreos.
How much did the top five lift. Just did this with my son last night. We had a contest. I beat him but he did it 30 times.
Top was 30 Next was 23 Then 18 Then 15
We might have a tie at 15...I don't remember.
cool, makes me feel good my son is a sophmore qb. The motivation for him was free pizza 5$ cesars if he could beat me.
I've been using my wife's brownies as helmet stickers, but I never thought of doing it during practice.
