Find a copy of BFS - THE TOTAL PACKAGE. There is a whole chapter about nutrition for athletes in that book.

Tell them our team doctor has forbidden it, and if they do not stop (our kids) they get extra conditioning every night for a week.
Was causing us some MAJOR cramps early in the season.

Was causing us some MAJOR cramps early in the season. had this happen to a friend of mine. the kid was is stud back, legit 4.3 guy. sub 11 hundred meter guy. kid kept cramping up. found out he was slamming these all day during school. a diet rich in fruits, veggies, salad greens, low fat meat, limiting red meat to 2 servings per week and dairy products.

cream puffs....yummy they go good with pizza right brophy? Nutrition? + most any good workout packet will give a good preface explaining the fuel for the body and a listing of appropriate foods (BFS / Husker Power / etc)> I think at the very least, the best things you could do is bring in a CPT from the local gym or something, pay him $100 to go through a quick nutrition session mini-clinic for like 30 minutes with your guys the first day of the off-season (if you're not comfortable doing this). One of the things we used to do (and stress) ....the first day of our off-season was hold a meeting after school, gather all the prospective football players for next year and go over our expectations of off-season activity. NUTRITION was just as important as lifting ( it's not what you can lift, it's what you can keep)...going over proper diet and nutrition and how to fuel the machine called the body.
