At the end of the month, personally, I will start looking at the teams in our region on what they bring back as players, what kind of JV they had, we have had a few teams in our region change their offense from year to year so that makes it somewhat difficult to really scout their o. That's why I just focus on the players that will be back....But, if there is a team that we just know they will run the same, then we will watch some of their old stuff over the last few years...

Last week I did a hit chart of where opponents threw the ball against us and put it on one big board with completions, incompletions, etc. Then I do a computer print-out of the season completion percentage, INTs, TDs, etc. for each zone.
This week I'll be going through our games from the past season and draw the run cards of how teams tried to attack our defense in 2006. This saves me the time of trying to overstudy the previous year's film when we play in 2007.
All of that goes into my scouting binder for each team so when next year comes round, I pull out a binder and I have all my practice plans and notes, adjustments, scouting reports, call sheet, game day sheets, etc. with a DVD of the game inside so there is no scrounging for the info next year when everything is hectic.
I'll leave some of the stuff in the office during winter and kids can come in during their study hall period and watch the film with the calls, what we were trying to accomplish, etc.

Spend more time self-scouting then looking at opponents. Looking to break our own tendencies, also looking to tweak our schemes to the personnel we have returning and coming up. Gathering as much info from sites such as this regarding what is working for others in particular situations so we can cherry-pick a bit.

agree with spartan. Mostly self-scouting. Trying to see what guys need to be where next year and what plays will be our best.

Agree with self scouting, look at your tendencies...See what you called on 1st, 2nd and short, 2nd and long, 3rd and long, etc...

I look at what was our best PASS,SCREEN, and RUN plays.
and our worst...
