This is probably not a big deal for you but it is that side of the pond!!! World Team beat Team USA 35-28 in Austin, TX last night.
It's the first time ever a Team USA lose that game,
I know this is not a real Team Usa and that the World Team is mostly a Canadian Team but still.
The game is growing everywhere. Hundreds of leagues around the world, Europe of course but also South America, Africa, Japan, China and India...
OL Sebastian Wollmer is a German playing for NE Patriots this sunday... A lot of non american kids will play College Ball next fall.
I'm not saying this is basketball but who would have bet against Team Usa 5 years ago?
For more info on the International Bowl check out ifaf.info

Sounds like you're better off molding the fans into football players.. Man, they're friggin mean.

The game is getting a lot of coverage on Canada's main football website: www.canadafootballchat.com/It looks like several Canadian kids signed with D1 schools after the game.

I agree. The USA kids didn't take this game seriously. The International team played with purpose. They executed better and were very physical. The USA kids were down by multiple touchdowns and a few of them were on the sidelines joking around an laughing. No sense of pride.

Sounds like you're better off molding the fans into football players.. Man, they're friggin mean. That's always my aim. I coach at a nice middle class University with very well behaved lads who are good athletes but my teams always lack some teeth. I'd love just 3-4 thugs just to up the aggression.

We're just getting started in Portugal. 7 teams with this being the first year of 11 on 11. A lot of days I want to put on pads because it is just so hard to teach being aggressive and hitting someone.

Do you realise how hard rugby players are to coach for gridiron? They always bounce to the outside as rbs and throw guys forward on tackles.
Still, better then soccer players
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using ProBoards

A nightmare to coach.

Converted a soccer player into a rb last year. ( he got rookie of the year ) and this year I have a rugby player, I'm converting to fullback..
They both liked to bounce it to the outside..

We had a RB last year who was stupid fast, could block but coming into late season, I threatened to staple his hand to the back of the full backs shoulder pads so he would actually follow the block

Our kicker / DB is a soccer kid funny thing is he makes a big play of defence ie: INT or a big hit and he rolls around on the ground till a trainer comes out to het him. Then on punt ball is gone he gets brushed by a rusher and he stands there or gets hit and pops back up like everything is fine...... Now the ref isn't calling it so I'm losing my marbles telling the kid OK so u know how soccer players are all wussies, when you feel the wind blow by you a little harder I want you to roll around on the ground like it's the World Cup, got it? He laughed pretty hard.
