I am looking to go to the Air Raid. I would like to hear the positives and negatives of it. I already run the spread. I want to incorporate the passing of the system.

WOuld anyone like to share how they use wristbands. DO you have every player use them and does each player have there individual job on it. Just wondering what is the best way, or easiest way.

Im not a Air Raid coach but no a little about it. Depends of the system your talking I guess, Leach signals or huddles dosent use wrist bands, Tony Franklin did use wrist bands with the individual jobs on every players wrist band but was watching a Troy game this year and they moved to signals no wrist bands, however if you buy his system he teaches the wrist band method. I would assume if you put the individual job on each players wrist band would be easier for the kids but more work for the coaches with typing up all those cards, orginizing making sure each postion has the correct wrist band ect.. But just the play call works for many no huddle teams.

I have not looked at a TF wrist coach but I would have to assume there is an excel program or the like for the coaches. I know in the download section someone made up a wristcoach excel program that copies the information from the call sheet to the wirstband. The setup would eb a PITA but after that it should be fine to work with.
Now my understanding of Leach is they use hand signals to the QB who does have a wristband. The wrist band then has a series of calls based on look and down and distance. I would have to think it would be colored coded and or column based.
Of the 2 TF schools that played in the KY state championships both used the wrist coach for all the skill kids I know. It looked like they used words for the oline.

The two Air Raid schools in Kentucky Class1a Lexington Christian and Class 4a Lone Oak. I believe you can purchase those games on www.khsaa.org/football/2007/...that may help with some guys Air Raid questions.

the tony franklin system comes with a very detailed excel program where you can pick any play in the system paste it to a master spreadsheet and it creates all you bands for you. Every position has specific instructions for every play. You can put the same play in more than one spot on the bad so the opposing D doesn't catch on. I have been involved with a spread team that ran the Air raid and incorporated some of WVU running game. We were hard to stop.
If you want the passing stuff you need the protection stuff as well. If you have the money I would recommend going to the Franklin seminars. YOu get so many resources.

I think i have all the passong power points. It is great because it has the protections and route concepts. I really think the kids are going to like what we are going to do next year. Alot of reps, and like Hatcher says back yard football....

We run the air raid and use wrist bands... The QB has the whole play on it and the other players has there responsibility. It helps with lower thinking kids.

I just went to went to excel and made a template.... We break everything up into about 6 sections...so we will have a california, roger, rabit, ect section. Then each position just has their job.. The QB has the whole play... For example I will signal in Roger 8... Qb's will say "Dbls rt 63 Y". F will say "rt check down" X will say "Slant" H will say "Slant" Y will say "Out" Z will say "Fade"
The first time you do one it is very time consuming...You have to make sure they have the right thing on them because you dont want to call Roger 8 and the Z has Slant.. it kills the entire play. We probably huddled 15 times all year.
