When holding a pre-season parents meeting, what are some of the topics that you would discuss? Thanks in advance.

What level?
*How playing time is earned. *The difference between hurt and injured. *The safety precautions YOU take (stickered helmets; mandatory mouth guards; blocking and tackling technique) *Conflict resolution. (If their player has an issue...have the PLAYER bring it to the coach...like a man. If there is still a problem...etc.) *Your expectations of the players *Ways they can help (boosters, tickets, film, stats, etc.)

Depending on the policy at your school, cover the responsibility with the equipment. You'd be shocked how much this will save your butt, and your costs Kid loses his equipment, it's his and his parent's responsibility to reimburse the school for the lost equipment.
I also hammer home the point about grades. Some parents seem to struggle with the idea that their kids are students before athletes.

One of the major topics I cover each year is COMMUNICATION. It works both ways. If you as a parent have a problem, come to me directly as opposed to trash talking up and down the street or in your home in front of your child. My door is always open. However, the one thing that will never be discussed is playing time.
Another big topic is INVOLVEMENT. It takes an army to run a professional organization. Ask what you can do to help out as a parent.

Any of you out there run your booster club on an account basis? Where basically each kid has his own account and more or less gets what he/his parents either buy out of pocket or work fundraisers for?
I just got the job at the school I've been at for 4 years (3 as DC), and one of the things that had to change is this. I'm tired of seeing 6-10 parents and their sons carry the load for everybody else.
