I just left a school after coaching 2 sports there for 8 years. I have a lot of stuff, they were very good to their coaches. I was wondering what you do with those "old coaching clothes".
I still have friends at my old place so I know I will probably give most of it to them.

I left my alma mater pretty pissed off so I took all my stuff back to the school, found a good group of kids I liked and gave it all to them
I had 8 years worth of apparel (4 as player, 4 as a coach)

A couple of players live two doors down from me. I just gave them a bag of stuff.

If those don't work, there's always the GW boutique.

I have only worked at one place. But A couple of guys have left and I have been passed down some of their stuff and I really appreciated it. Give it to some of the coaches you are leaving You can never have enough gear.

I was just in the same position. Been at a school for 11 years. So I gave some to the coaches and staff and a lot to players. The players really appreciated it.

if it is coaching gear like polos, coats, pullovers, etc. I'd give it to someone on the staff, something like shorts, t-shirts, or hoodies I'd keep as lounging apparel (would say workout or yard work clothes but....)

Donated some of it to other coaches.
Kept some for wearing around the house, painting, etc. Good to have a HC that doesn't care if you wear stuff like that as long as it isn't in front of the kids.

If you left on good terms...pass them on to fellow staff members like others have stated.
If you left on $hitty terms...the synthetic material is highly flammable which would make for a great bonfire.
That should help with closure... ;D

ALWAYS take it to the local homeless shelter - I know it sounds horrible but the unintentional comedy of it is priceless - especially with some of the schools I have worked at.

Headline reads: "Local 7-11 robbed by unidentified high school football coaching staff member!" That's what dropping them off at Good Will might get you

After my first stop, I keep a bunch of cloths and after they sat in my closet for 3 years never being won, I donated them. From that point on, I gave all the stuff back and told the HC to give it to the new guy. The only thing I keep now is maybe a cool tshirt/championship shirt and my favorite version of the coach's ball cap, under the bill I write the record we had while I was there. I wish I had gotten an old football helmet from my previous stops

I gave everythig away. Some to other coaches on the staff, some to the custodians. The only things I kept were the jackets we received for winning championships.

If you left on bad terms then donate them to your rival for them to use as motivational tools.

Either give some of it to the kids, the assistant coaches, your favorite faculty members... Or donating it to goodwill or a local shelter is always a good idea, especially with the winter months here. A local shelter or church would welcome clothing, especially jackets/pull-overs, etc.

Anything I've worn = GYM and Yardwork clothes.
Anything unworn = Give to boosters to sell at games and get some of the $ back into the program

I gave them back....other coaches always need some more swag so they do not have to wash everyday. This is for what I was issued by the ISD.
Things I bought on my own, I had a garage sale and took the best offer. Pennies on the dollar but I wasn't going to wear them again.

A coaching a buddy of mine who has been at the same college job coming up on 20 years had his Mom make him a quilt from old apparel, it's very cool, he has it hanging in his office.

Job I got fired from: gave it all back to the HC/program. Worn/unworn, whatever, I didn't want it anymore.
Alma mater: saved in a few bags at my parents, since I would love to return some day and wouldn't it be nice to have some 'retro' gear to bust out in front of the kids.
Previous school: Kept my favorite T shirt, kept the nice track jacket, donated the rest to goodwill. Happy memories there from my first two years coaching with my college roommates.

Find the youth director in the area of the school you coached at before (where those Pop Warner or Youth players play who will go to the high school you formerly coached at) and give your stuff to him. he will have coaches in your size he can give the stuff to who will wear it to coach youth league.

I hand some down to the coaches on the staff, and the older stuff I donate to a goodwill type place

i am currently in charge of ordering for the track program.
school colors are royal and silver.
i ordered mostly everything in black and grey with no logos. just in case!!!
the other stuff i will leave for other coaches to enjoy. if it does not have a logo like our friday night game shirt i will keep those. anything with ties to the school that is not worth keeping stays.
ie. Gortex anything, or un-logo'd polos/1/2 turtle neck shirts

With all due respect, if you ordered me a bunch of non-logoed school colored stuff and I were your assistant...I would take it to the embroidery shop and get my chyt embroidered. That's just me though, I am all in. I WANT to be recognized as a coach with the program I coach at, the day I don't is the day I hand in my letter of resignation.
