Taking a middle school head coaching job next year. Looking to start a character building program. I've thought of maybe a story or video at the start of the week then discuss how it applies to the team, then giving some kind of reward when a player demonstrates one of the traits during the season. Looking for ideas of anyone doing a program like this. Thanks

We use this and think it's the best. Have been involved since Wade started it. Broken down week by week for your season. www.coaching4life.us/

When I came to Utah as an assistant, the first thing I told my head coach is that I wanted to teach a character class. I have a copy of coaching to change lives. I must say that our kids attitude showed steady and markable improvement weekly. I also saw a unique attitude amongst our younger players who rather than follow seniors with bad habits, maintained a positive attitude and great work ethic. Character is the foundation a good program is built upon.
