I have a good list I think. You can see it on my profile. There are some non-football ones. Use this link: twitter.com/#!/CoachCP/following

Coach Huey, Football Scoop, Smart Football and then some other high school coaches. Following college coaches is worthless, they are the worst Tweeters out there. They would be a lot more interesting if Les Miles would Tweet, "just got out of our offensive staff meeting, we feel like we can run power toss weak this week. Their weakside DE is a p*ssy" or Holgerson tweeted, "they can't cover 4 verts, their safeties run like the maids at my hotel."

"Just spoke to insert name of alumni group) in (insert name of town). Great crowd. (Insert school trademark cheer)!!!!!!!! However, there are some great fake/spoof coaches accounts. The Fake Bo Pelini (@fauxpelini) is classic. My wife asks me twice a week, "what did Fake Bo have to say today?" Twitter for me, is a place to get my news and for entertainment. If I want to learn football, this is my place, right here. Here, and various blogs that guys on this site have.

I follow a ton of high school, college and pro coaches. Have not got much stuff (other than Pete Carroll's song of the day!) however I have used it to keep my players and school community informed as to what is going on.

I like it for news, "chatter," entertainment. I like following official news outlets (NYT, WSJ, etc) as it's a good way to keep up and I have some apps on my phone and iPad (I highly recommend "Flipboard") that make viewing a good experience. I agree twitter is not the place for in depth thinking, though I've been pointed in some interesting directions.
Regarding college coaches, most of them don't even tweet themselves, it's some staffer. The best is former Kentucky and Oregon coach Rich Brooks. He takes a lot of scenic photos from his phone as he primary goes fishing and hunting in Oregon and Kentucky and elsewhere. Some other guys have more rah rah stuff.
And I agree about the fake profiles. Some of them are pretty darn funny.

@rsrsites is my account. I tweet about my business making football websites and other items. Huey has been tweeting more. He's filling my facebook page. Keep em coming Hue. I've been on Twitter since the very early stages... 2008. Back then, all I really did was get my news from it - that is still my main objective. Started following espn, sports illustrated, local news & weather reports. Slowly, I started following other people. My tweets were sparse and mainly an overview (monthly, maybe weekly) of the status of my team, my site, and the rare post about myself. This past year I started becoming more 'tied' to Twitter as a resource for information. That has spilled over to having some fun with stupid posts, making more tweets about what I'm doing, games I'm watching, thoughts I have on topics. Of course, I'm always good for the 'retweet' on sports related topics. There is definite 'power' in Twitter. Maybe not power, but at least there is some fun in following the trends during a game or a particular event that is taking place. If nothing else, Twitter is a great way to keep up with current events. I'm finding it a great way to communicate with other people as well. I recommend people try Twitter out. If for nothing more than following news outlets on scores, stories, etc. After using it, you may find it informative or fun to follow others as well.

Agree with Huey and tog. I enjoy twitter when I'm watching games. Had some good technical back and forths with Huey and tog last night during the Baylor game. But I also follow some people who just pop off and post funny stuff. So it's it's a fun mix.
It's also interesting who you will hear from. Had back and forths with D-1 coaches before (Herb Hand and I had some fun stuff a couple of months back). You'd be surprised how interactive twitter is in terms of an ongoing conversation with people.

Had a lot of fun going back and forth with some of you guys during last night's game. It always helps to have a fun game to watch and banter about. I always enjoy the great information I get from places like FootballScoop and FBRumorMill, as well as some of the guys on here. Feel free to follow me @mgreg11...I try and retweet or post any new football-related information I can find, as well as some stuff that just makes me laugh.
