We had a busy 44 hours -- Thurs. night practice, Fri. night scrimmage, and Sat. afternoon game.
The scrimmage had the potential to be the most interesting part. We'd rubbed shoulders the previous week with the club that was practicing on the field at Lehman HS when we were using the gym, and our director of football ops. arranged for us to take part in a scrimmage there. So Fri. night we took part in a 3 way scrimmage with the Ravens and the Bronx R. Bulldogs. Unfortunately we could field only 10, but we still had a fairly easy time of it with the Ravens 11. Not so with the Bulldogs, who scrimmaged us 10 on 10. It was hard to tell anything about our offense, though, because we were missing our center and had nobody else with recent experience snapping the ball, so both handed and shotgun snaps were very iffy by either of the snappers we tried.
On Sat. we played the winless Steelers, whom we'd beaten 13-0 on Oct. 15. The Steelers have been losing players and only had 10, so we played them 10-on-10 and beat them 24-0. So now we're 6-0-1 and will conclude this coming Sat. vs. the Ramblers.
