My team is playing for a spot in the superbowl this weekend. Here is my dilema. The organization we are playing was kicked out of playoffs last year for cheating. They where put on probation this year for practicing extra and scrimmaging teams out of our organization. The hc of the team has helped me out numerous times this year with scouting reports of other opponents and I have done the same. We played them at home this year and there was alot of drama. There auditor was kicked off our sideline for threatening a fight with me. Opposing teams fan where putting our kids down not rooting on there kids. So fast forward three weeks and we are playing them for spot in superbowl. HC of opposing team texts me no less than fifteen times about how they are gonna kick our ASS. It got very personal. Called me six times, i answered the first time and asked , are you drunk? I called there organization pres. and asked her to call coach and tell him to stop. The next day he texted me an apology. Here is the dilema, my coaches want me to turn him in, I dontwant to, what is your opinion?

It sucks to be in this spot. My reluctance to turning him in is his kids. Almost think play the game out and after season deal with this? My coaching staff is split on this.

Who is there left to tell? The cops? AFAIK texting braggadoccio is not illegal.

If he's breaking rules then he's the one hurting his kids, not you for turning him in. What good does it do to bring it up after the fact? Punishment for any infraction should be fairly immediate or it won't have as big an effect. Getting suspended or forfeiting a game will curb future infractions more than getting called on the carpet after winning the super bowl.

bob we sign a coaching ethics form, he has violated that. I called chapter president, not organization president. It would be easy to get him suspended. Coachfd, my concious is clear either way. My hesitation in turning him in is not screwing his kids over. I have decided to handle all this in off season meetings. Thanks, coaches for your advice.

bob we sign a coaching ethics form, he has violated that. I called chapter president, not organization president. Looks like I misunderstood again. I forgot how widespread the term "superbowl" is now, and assumed that, like the original Super Bowl, it was between the champions of different leagues, not within a single organiz'n. That's different. No reason not to kick it upstairs then.
