I found it interesting that he played at Saddleback C.C before he went to Hawaii. That is where Coach McElroy is the HC. I'm sure he threw the ball around there quite a bit too.

They have a couple of "colorful" personalities on that Hawaii team, no doubt...Brennan got the boot from CU for getting drunk and then forcing his way into a female student's room where he did some bad things...that receiver that got kicked out of the game in the 4th Quarter...he spent 15 months in juvee...and how about the DC? Jerry Glanville is about as colorful as they come!
How about those two Hawaii backs? The starter is 250 and then the short-yardage guy (converted DT) is 300+!

He backed up Matt Leinart in high school. Walked-on at CU and was dismissed for getting drunk, breaking into a female student's dorm room and sexually assaulting her. He was charged with trespassing and something else, but the sexual assault charges were dropped due to a "lack of evidence" (from what I remember hearing, the CU police were part of the scandal problems). Hawaii then offered him.
I'm all for giving people a second chance, but sexually assaulting someone doesn't deserve one, IMO. I think it's interesting the media jumps on Colt and turns him into somewhat of a media darling, and then the same people whine and cry about T.O. sleeping in meetings. I can't stand the general media's coverage of sports...
All that said, it sure is fun to see Hawaii in action though.

Colt actually spent a couple days in jail... not sure how you serve time for "assault" after being charged with sexual assault, but that's neither here nor there. People don't talk about it but Gary Barnett ran one of the worst run programs for a few years. Did anyone see the recent article about the female kicker they had? Unsure of how true the allegations are, but she said she endured abuse, sexual assault, etc. They asked Barnett and his quote was "We all know she was a terrible kicker...she couldn't kick at all." Classy.
Regarding Hawaii, people forget that the lesser programs tend to really have to stretch to get talent. Lots of castoffs and sordid background. You have the guys no one else wanted to recruit, and then the guys everyone recruited but had too many grade/character issues.

Barnett is a real treat...after he left NW, they had to send a HAZMAT team into the football offices to hose all of the sleaze out...

We can rip on the hawaii program for the kids they take a chance on, but its not always a bad thing. If you leave these kids out on the streets to screw up more, you aren't helping them either. Maybe its a good thing that June Jones takes these kids in and help turn their lives around. Maybe he can change some of these kids before they end up in jail for a lot longer than the 7 days brennan spent or 15 months that bess spent.

^^very good point. Always give a second chance. The worst they can do is mess it up and have to cut your ties. Jut have to deal with the heat from media and fans ect...

One of my prized possesions was a green Rainbow Warriors hat when I was in college! LOVED it! People thought I was some kind of gay pride parade organizer. ;D

After being called a wench by a Rainbow on the sidelines, I have always thought very little of them. The only thing worse was scheduling them as a home game!!

Hawaii does seem like an arrogant team. I think when you go to the Island they have an attitude there
