Our pregame meal is a Chick-Fil-A sandwich and a couple of years ago I just got sick of them and can't stand them now. I'll usually stop at Subway, pick up a sub, and eat it before the kids get there.

This season I have gone with a chicken burrito from el pollo loco
Pretty good, i like it because it is filling but im not so stuffed i feel pregnant when I am done eating... It started by accident, I got it before our first game and we won... and I am superstitious so I have had to get it every game since. and I wear the same boxers... (washed of course)

Whatever the moms bring in for Pre-Game meal.
Always includes fresh fruit, rabbit food, side salad, Gatorade.
Have a deal with local Subway for $1 off any foot long sub so we get those some.
Last week was Barbecued Chicken, Mashed Potatoes w/Gravy, Dinner Rolls.

My second favorite thing to football: Food.
Now, it is the team meal: chik-fil-a, chips, banana, brownie, power ade of the week
Previous team's meal: Fried chicken (livers if they had some), green beans, macaroni pie, rice and gravy, and some type of homemade Mennonite (place that we ate) dessert.
Place before that, there was no team meal, but somebody in the community wanted to 'sponsor' us at a local restaurant and I always got: fried chicken liver, collard greens, pinto beans, and corn bread.
Yeah, I am a southern boy.

nothing (just red bull and chewing gum) I would vomit pretty hard as a player before games and it carries over.

pancakes, bacon, and a piece of fruit. It's what our kids eat. Sometimes, I'll have some Advocare Spark before the game and again at the half.

This season... about a 6'ER OF MILLER LIGHT
Actually I'm very regimented when it comes to my pre-game meal (keep in mind I'm a life-long fat guy):
3:10ish 2 Slices of Pizza from Bella Villa in town- 1 White, 1 Meat Lovers & water 4:30 - 1 Sugar Free Rockstar and about 3 Atomic fireballs OR 24oz WaWa Coffee (depending on the weather) 6:50 - come in from pregame groups and slug another Diet Rockstar
7:30-9:30 - GAMETIME, I usually chew through a small bag of atomic fireballs...about 10 pieces
10:00ish Post Game - Leftover Chick Fil-A from team dinner
No after-game partying for me anymore...6:00am Saturday comes early when your 3yr old is waking you up to play...

Impressed that you used hella that's a bay area word... never heard any other region use it nearly as much. You just jumped up a few notches in my book

Deli sandwich from the Grocery store and two lo-carb Monsters for lunch. Then a PBJ uncrustable and gatorade before gametime with the kids snack sacks. During the game I munch bubble gum and seeds and my dad has to give me a red gatorade before too. Im a tad superstitious and OCD

in reading this i can see most coaches have very poor eating habits. what is the deal with all the energy drinks? that place I work at now has an energy drink ban believe it or not. they had a super star kid cramping up all the time. his diet consisted of energy drinks. when he stopped the energy drinks he no longer cramped up.

i get a gyro platter, some gyro meat, cucumber sauce, salad, rice, and pita bread...Used to just get some subway but we started off very poorly so clearly it was my pregame meal. We are 2-0 since but even if we lose Ill keep going to the small family owned spot for my gyro platter, it is delicious!

airman--I also noticed the abundance of energy drinks listed. Surprised really... I guess its just the addiction. I find the whole energy drink culture to be very interesting especially since athletes have died from them. the problem i have with kids using theem is the high amounts of sugar in them actually causes dehydration because the sugar impeds absorbtion of water in the muscles. Johns Hopkins did the study on this.

Yeah I'm 98% vegan...don't really fit in with the coaching diet culture so what is the 2% of your diet that is not vegan? I weigh 170 lbs and used to weight 265. in losing the weight i moved over to a high protein/lower carbs diet. my carbs are complex carbs.

i have heard of guys drinking energy drinks before a game....dang, why do you need something to get you amped up, IT:S GAME DAY...I think it would just create jitters for me...I drank a real cup of coffee for the first time all year this am(sat) after a bad loss...I threw my glasses against the wall and had to leave the room and take a walk...I couldn't imagine seeing me on game day if i had an energy drink in me
