I have been told by our asst ad that the way we take the field after we come out of the locker room and just before the game "lacks some luster"..heres what we do: We line up under the the goal post..we rush the field to enter sandman , through the cheerleaders banner...hoop and holla a little...we do the coin toss, line up nice for the national anthem and then play ball..pretty classy IMO.... but not very exciting for fans I guess.
Suggestions..thoughts

Have a guy in a Seminole suit ride a horse onto the field and plant a flaming spear through the assistant AD's heart.

Seriously, your assistant AD is complaining about how you come onto the field? Wow. Do you critique him on the method he uses to schedule the buses for away games?
What does he want? A fog machine, miniature Stonehenge and and a PA system that goes to 11?

Have the whitest, pastiest member of the coaching staff run out onto the field naked while you train every spotlight in the drama department square on him, then ask if the "brilliant, reflective glow off his alabaster skin is sufficiently lustrous."
I guarantee the crowd will react.

show him this video and then show cu's record during this time.
I worked for a great guy who brought a real cool pregame tradition with hoods to a new school and the admin and locals just whined about it all the time.
stick with what works for you and your team.
this scenario reminds me of jennifer aniston and her pieces of flair from office space. show your ad how much luster you got by givin him the finger lol im kidding its best to keep your job.

Get yourself a golden eagle. Let him fly from the press box. Have it circle the stadium as your fans scream. Unforgettable. Heh, this is a humorous topic. I honestly have never given any consideration to what our fans might find interesting. It has no bearing on the game itself as far as I can tell.

CU wins the pregame National Championship. Too bad they most likely went out and got drilled right after that.

Ask the kids for ideas. They like to think about crap like this. Keep veto power, though, because they can come up with some craazy $hit.

I have 23. I let them and-or captains decide stuff I am ambivalent about, meaning things that don't impact winning or losing.

This is item #137 on a list of 135 important items you need to be concerned about on game day.
I wouldn't give it another wasted thought.

We have played some teams that I swear must take all Thursday rehearsing their Pre-Game routines - clapping, chanting, field entrances, etc.
This is a little off-topic but first clinic I attended was at Ohio State when Woody was in his hey-day.
At spring practice they had the most unorganized, laissez-faire warm up period I had seen. Was really disappointed because my college coach had everything just so - including forced enthusiasm.
But then they started practice - and all hell broke loose. I have never seen hitting like that in my life before or since.

I do think it's worth talking about....this is only our second year as a program..it is up to us to create a tradition..set an atmosphere and "own"our house...we will still enter as a team..but we want to get the band involved...cheer involved..( we barely had a banner last year)...I liked the ECU post

Love this thread. Im for a team/players coming up with something on there own before or after practice. It helps build the kids up, team unity. Im not gonna spend anytime on it. Im not a hype guy. Hype is great and then you get hit, and its game on. I went to scout another H.S. inner squad scrimmage the other day. They spent a half hour on entering the field and jumping jacks. Totally stupid.

Interesting thread. My idea always is to keep things simple and crisp. Fortunately we have a tunnel. We gather all kids in the tunnel and leave them alone for about one or two minutes. Pretty good acustics in there and they like to hit the metal ceiling wich is kind of a greate atmosphere. Then they enter the field to whatever song they prefer for that game. That's absolutely up to them. Then they gather on the field, some words by the team captain, then "Team on 3" and we are ready to go. I hate long pregame stuff. My Headcoach once told me: "I can scream at you and get you all pumped up and ready to make the world turn the other way. But two minutes into the game all of that poise is lost. Your mtivation has to come from within yourself. Make sure to allways know why you are on the field an act like you mean it. All that funky entrance stuff is for your own fun and for the fans. Understand that and get your motivation from within." Probably some of the wiseest words I've ever heard. One of our oponents don't do any entrance stuff. After all necessary things they gather in their teamzone, some FEW word by their headcoach and that's it. They walk around the teamzone after that and talk to each other if they have something to say and when the wistle blows they are ready to roll. All the games we played them they never had any motivational problems.

Nothing better than how Ohio State takes the field. We stole it, it is simple, and it gets the kids going. Besides my alma mater Ohio State is my favorite college team. So I noticed when our first game opponent did that. We were ahead 42-0 at halftime. So much for Pre-Game entrance getting team ready to play.

Just have your guys skydive into every game. Preferably out of something large. Possibly lead by a couple of tomcats as well.
What? Not viable?
