We won 39-0. Our biggest problem was trying the quell the dissention on the staff wrt keeping the score under control. Some of the assistants were vocal on the sideline in expressing their disapproval of the header's decisions. In fairness to the header he did make a reasonable effort this week to keep the score down, but he could do better. Anyway, the arguing on sideline in front of the kids and within earshot of the parents in the stands (which are right on top of the sideline at our field) was unprofessional and needs to be fixed.
We are 2-0 but haven't played anyone decent yet - our next two opponents should be pretty good tests, so we should find out if we're any good or not soon.

Nice job Doug. I hope those guys figure it out. Be a shining light for them.
We won 36-0. Thought it was gona be a tough one, but the ball just bounced our way all day long. Have a challanging road trip next game. Team always plays us close. Having fun with the OLine. They have a long way to go, but are starting to look like a unit (Thanks Kevin and Paul). . QB is progressing nicely (Thanks Slack). Pleased with Backs running hard and receivers catching the ball (Thank God)
Defense has been SOLID (Thanks JOE C)
Good Luck

Doug
My oldest grandson is playing second grade football. Im taking a break and enjoying being the grandpa fan this year.
We have three 2nd grade teams in our org. All new teams throughout the league so week one was all about kids new to the game.
My son is the Header of one of them with a ton of youth experience. One of the other teams has a coach that is on round two through the system with a team so he has a ton of youth experience. The third team has a former HS coach as their Header.
My grandsons team was in a dogfight and won 26-20 so all's fair in love and war.
The other experienced youth coach was in a slaughter and won 34-0. He did a lot of things to not score in the second half. You could really tell he was all about sportsmanship by doing the littlest things like declining penalties against the other team and all.
The former HS coach does not get it yet. They too were in a slaughter and won 51-6. He did NOTHING to keep the score down. The opponent finally executed a very nice pass play for a TD but had a holding penalty on the play. The score was somewhere around 40-0 at this point but he took the penalty rather than allowing the TD and letting the coach address the issue with his linemen another time. This Coach was very happy the play was negated. I was pretty shocked. The opponent did score on a KOR…the Coach was livid and was on his players hard !
You are not alone….like Matt says…be their light. They don’t get it yet. Winning is the goal…but grinding an opponent into the dirt is not.
