He shouldn't have cut blocked the inside linebacker, it was a great block though.

If he is responsible for the cutback, then he needed to stay on outside shoulder of Norwood. He came in so high that when Norwood made his move he couldn't react. His job is to keep everything inside of him. He played it lazy to begin with and went for the killshot instead of squeezing Norwood into the hole. DE played that poorly as well.

I see this at every level of football. Guys wanna make sure they get the hard hit, or get a tic on the stat sheet.
Force him inside where you have 9 teammates.
Fundamentally, IMO. he crossed his feet when moving laterally, did not stay square to the LOS, did not break down to make the tackle.
But like I said, I don't think he was focusing on his fundamentals...and instead trying for the knockout punch in the open field.

Would you like some bacon and eggs with that toast? Very very poor technique on the tackle but great cut block I will have to agree with!!

the minute a defender turns his shoulders, he pins himself.....shuffle laterally to the LOS

I agree - he crossed-over and he turned his shoulders. He needs to stay square to the LOS and shuffle down the line. Then accelerate vertically into the tackle.

Atlanta runs the double wing - that was the first mistake!

Just an all round aweful play. He must have know he had noone outside him, but he puts all his chips in on the fact the RB is only going to go forward..... cheers me up that even the pros do it!
But like many have said, you must breakdown, keep the outside relationship and squeeze him down. Terrible.
EDIT: Also the safety middle field ballsed up too IMO. He needed to slow down as he went beyond the BC, then admittedly he prob thought he would hit the channel, but he wasn't under control either, then got caught out, and took a crappy AOP....
Anyone else agree with that? Or is it just me?

the minute a defender turns his shoulders, he pins himself.....shuffle laterally to the LOS That was my first thought when I saw it. I also think that he tried too hard for the big hit. Also, as badly as he missed, I think he closed his eyes.
