I have about 40 Riddell VSR-2 youth helmets that were manufactured in 1998-1999. Are they worth anything? Can they still be reconditioned?
It just kills me to have to throw them out...do you guys know of anyone who could possibly use them?

Great fundraising idea. Clean them up really well then throw a sticker on them and take them with you when you hit up local businesses for money. For a kind donation to your program they can get a helmet with your program sticker on the side for display at their business.

Going to have the kids sign the helmets, as well.

Cut them in half and put them on a board, award them to the player of the week each week with their name on them. Raffling them off signed by the team is another idea.

Great idea...the only thing I would add is to remove the guts of them so you don't get some yahoo misusing your symbolic gift and jamming you up.

We raffle ours off at every home game and bring in enough to buy about 5 new helmets every year with the money.
