Inner city program that I took over in need of major overhaul and the booster account is extremely low! We cant do a program because it so late and our school printing will only print a couple of pages as long as we lay it out.. Willing to do whatever we need to so we can get these kids things they deserve.

My sports dream is quick and easy. Also lift-a-thon is good.
Good Luck fundraising sucks and to me it is one of the worst parts of coaching!

I do a team poster that is 18 inch by 24 inches. It has a team picture of varsity and jv plus a picture of just seniors. Has both schedules on it as well. I ask for a $200 donation from business to put and ad on the poster. The ad space is around 4 inch by 6 inch square. Normally get 12-15 sponsors.
We give the posters out at home games.
Make sure you ask the printer if he wants an ad and just deduct $200 from the cost of the posters. Good Luck!!

The letter drive is a great idea coachy. We have done lift-a-thons and raised decent money, a better way to do it is to hold a "Powerlifting Tournament" and invite some of the other teams from around your area, charge an entry fee- $5 a kid or something like that, open concessions. You can still have your kids get pledges for the lift-a-thon and do the maxes at the tournament. You get your money from pledges and the other teams fund your program.

Car Wash... if you run it right you can make some decent money
I am in charge of our car washes... we have about 25 kids on varsity and jv each right now
Varsity had their car wash last month, made 1600
JV had theirs saturday, made 1700
We give them 2 weeks for pre sale tickets... we made over 3,000 bucks off of this and I really didnt even push the pre sales very hard. If you stay on your kids to sell sell sell you can raise 3,000 in one big one

we did a thing this year where we contacted as many football alumni as we could asking for a donation of $10 to have their name put on the back of the camp tshirts as an alumni sponsor. $20 if they wanted a shirt also. We put their name and their graduation year. Had a good response and raised several hundred dollars without really working very hard.
I know i get hit up several times a year by the colleges i graduated from - would just as soon give $$ to my old high school football program.

I had an idea that if you took your own team pictures instead of contracting it out to a pro, you could make an easy $1000+. And probably do it better/faster, too.

our equipment guy told us about a fundraiser his old school did. Kids got spirit pack for free if they sold 4 t-shirts to family, fans, alumni or who ever. Cost of Tshirt sale covered gear. It also outfitted fans in team gear that was worn to games.

Similar to a letter drive, a coin drive. Our players go door to door with small buckets in their jerseys for 3 hours. Raised $1400 this year.

Poker Tournament! This is one you need to do in the offseason, but it can be a big moneymaker. Lots of people in our area play anyway, so when they know if is for a cause like the FB program, they are more than willing to do it. You can make BIG money here if you do it right and can get a room that will hold a bunch of people.

Here's one that worked for us. Find a local grocery store that is willing to donate a gift certificate for their store. Then sell tickets on the voucher at the store on a saturday. Here's the twist ...... Have the players on site in FULL GEAR and offer customers help with their groceries/cart, for a donation. Great exposure for the team & Kids are the ones doing.

www.kickstarter.com/A kick starter is a fundraiser that works through a website. You create different levels of donations and give out gifts through those donations. For instance, say your 1st level was $10, the person would get a team t-shirt. $20 they'd get a t-shirt and an autographed team poster, etc. Unsigned bands use it all the time to pay for their tours.
