All but 1 big run, was completely shut down by the colts. I think its too easy to say "Run the ball and milk the clock" but lets be fair nothing was going right for the Bears on Offense. Ok, my boys went down but I can't blame it all on Rex For as long as I can remember the Bears have been a run team. Up 7-0 and they are throwing? They know they have a wild card at QB and they call passes? If they had run the ball, milked the clock, they would have had a better chance Nice to see Manning get the ring that guarantees the HOF though

I agree that the bears defense played well enough to win. They only gave up 22 points and some of those were aided by turnovers. the Colts field position was great all night.

I think that was the worst Super Bowl I've seen in a long time.. Grossman makes Trent Dilfer look like the second coming of Joe Montana.. Tons of turnovers, missed tackles, hell- even Vinatieri actually missed a kick, and lousy commercials to make matters worse..LOL..
And what was the deal with that MVP Presentation? That was nothing more than a glorified Cadilacc commercial..
Oh well, at least Prince was good..;-)

What was up with Princes' shadow behind that big sheet? Was it just me or was the intention of that to make it appear that Prince was playing with his, er..."guitar"?

heres what I think about the super bowl in general. It seems like every year, after it was over everyone says that game sucked, it was boring and so on. Everyone is expecting the last 25 minutes of Boise State vs Oklahoma because its the super bowl. Its another game, teams do what they do. They don't put in new rules for the super bowl to make it exciting or anything. The teams are both going to do what got them there. I think we set our expectations at an unreachable level because of what the game is hyped up to be.

in the 4th qtr, they panned the Colts sideline.
Howard Mudd held up the grease board with a message on it.
"Brophy, Meet me on jcfb.com after the game. I have some articles I'm going to paste on there!"
Joe Gibbs and Joe Bugel were watching the game with me at Dan Henning's house last night - they thought that was pretty cool

I thought I saw in a stat summary of the game that the Colts ran 81 offensive plays to the Bears 46. When an offense as good as Indi runs that many plays it will be tough on any defense to hold them in check. Tough to rush the passer when you are on the field that long.

Talking a bit about the x's and o's of the game... has INDY gone away from the "pin and pull" zone scheme and more of a "covered/uncovered" way of running of the play?

I did rewatched the game and it did notice it being done. But I remember back in the day they used to pull 2 or 3 and it didn't look like they did this game. Maybe it was a gameplan thing.
