I think it is the term for Kinesiology when you are unsure of how to spell Kinesiology and don't want to classify it as advanced physical education.

Kind of off subject but I once had a dental hygentist ask me what I was going to do now that I had just graduated from coll. . I told her I was going to be a Phys Ed teacher. To which she replied "you have to goto college to do that?" So I shot back "Did you have to goto school to learn how to brush my teeth?" Lets just say my teeth bled for oh about a week after that appt. So now when people ask me what my major was I just say Education LOL

Kinesiology - Used to be called "Human Performance".
When I went to school using Human Performance majors were known as "HuPpies". That was really lame.
They changed it to Kinesiology and that was good, but now I am teaching TV/media classes. As The World Turns!!!

Kinesiology, at least where I'm in school at, combines PE, exercise science, community health, and Pre-PT.

My masters degree is in Exercise Science and Physiology and I did my masters on the long snap.
Caught some grief about it - but one time it was from a home ec major - she had done her thesis on meatloaf!

It might not even be that bad but I recently saw "Pre-business," and it made me laugh since I'd never heard of it before. Pre-med or pre-law, yes. Pre-business? No.
