Working this summer for a sports company getting off the ground floor. Looking to add some staff from around the country in the future.
It has been a great experience and have met some amazing college and high school coaches along the way. At worst, I have had fun learning how to use what we have and how to get our players more excited about learning the game.

I used to cut the grass and take care of our fields at the school before the days of budget cuts. Made about 1500 for the summer. Now I take my kid out of daycare for the summer, saves about 1500, so it works out!

Storm damage roofing sales. If you live in a metro area that is susceptible to hail it can be very lucrative.
I also know a few guys that are independent insurance adjusters. That too can be a very nice summer job if the storms are right.

If your school hasn't been hit too hard with budget cuts, then you could get hired on the grounds staff. Mowing, weeding, edging etc. I've done that in years past. But where some real money is it just mowing yards on your own. You can make tons of money just by going around mowing peoples yards. Down side to that is you have to go around and find yards but once you get a few then they start piling up, and you can work around your schedule. But prolly the best part is all the money you make is money that Uncle Sam doesn't know bout!!

I'm writing test questions for a district-wide assessment. Get a little bit of scratch and it's none too difficult!

I mow the district's grass part time. About 16 hours a week. Get to take care of our field which I would do for free and make some money. Not a bad gig.
Best part of it is I only go on days we have lifting. So I mow Monday, Wed and Thursday and have Tuesdays, Fridays and the weekends to spend with my family.

I work as-needed for a performance enhancement coach (who is a CSCS) who operates his own facility. Basically, I come in when he is busy or out of town...couple days a week. I run stopwatches and work with the junior high kids while the other guy who works there usually trains the high school and college athletes.
The facility is awesome...10 Oly platforms and PLENTY of 10k, 15k, and 20k Pendley bars and Eleiko bumper weights...3 Pro Maxima squat racks, battling ropes, ladders, hurdles and sleds.
I don't make much money but the guy lets me train there for free and trains my son (7th grader) for free 3 days a week.

Umpire baseball (if I call the games right my kids will be done in time for football to start in the fall) Teach summer school Physical Education. Getting married this summer, so that has been a sinkhole for money so far.

Umpiring can be a great way to make money Spring and Summer.
Only downside is there always seems to be a shortage and there are so many games, most of which are double headers (which means you're working plate several times a week) - you can get sick of it in a hurry.

I teach summer school and I used to bartend on the weekends near the beach. Talk about a good gig. I made some nice money and was around some unbelievable scenery, and no I'm not talking about the beach.
