Let's talk cadences...
What's yours? Why do you use it?
We use a Color Number system and a "Set Go"...
Color speaks to the blocking Number speaks to the direction of the play... Set Go allows for us to play with the count...
More so, the color number scheme gives us audible options.
Ex. Grey 88, Grey 88, Set Go...
Grey - Meaning Veer... 88 - Meaning to the right... Go - On 1.
What ya got?

We're basic - Down, Set, Hut... We're also no huddle so our play gets called and the team is getting ready. We have certain plays that the ball is snapped on DOWN so the team has to be ready whether it's on down or not. We also have a few snapped on SET - linked to certain motions. Our wrist cards show if the snap is on 2, other wise it's on 1. We use the "on 2" if teams are trying to time our motion.

"set blue"...thats it,. I dont want my middle school kids in their stances very long, dont want the defense stemming around much and we dont want to shoot ourselves in teh foot with mutliple cadences. we are ball control so giving up five yards is a killer. once in a while we will run a "no play" or "on one" but its really rare.

Down - (get the linemen set) Set - (motion or shift) Color and two-digit number x 2 (check with me's, audibles, & dummies) Set - reset Hut - snap count
start from day one to alter the cadence rhythm and inflection.
First sound is 'set' if we go quick count with no check with me

qb gives the "spirit fingers" or "jazz hands" ... lol ... just wiggle the fingers and center will gun snap it to him either immediately or after counting (silently, of course) 1, 2, or 3.
we be shotgun

Ready - Set(motion if any) - hut(1)-hut(2)-hut(3)
QB makes sure everybody is set before calling "Ready"
Only audible QB has is "opposite" call.
