We are hosting a 7 on 7 tournament this weekend and are looking for estimates of how much food to buy.
24 teams. 20 man rosters. 10am-6pm.
Food: Burgers, hotdogs, water, gatorade, chips,
We are in desperate need of insight from someone that has done this before. Your help is greatly appreciated. Feel free to PM me as well.

1st thing you buy is ice, then you go buy some more ice, and make sure you have enough ice to keep the coolers filled. Then you worry about buying ice.

Have you considered buying plenty of ice? If you can't, get as much frozen H20 as possible.

1000 burgers, 2000 dogs 2000 gatorades and 2000 water, 1000 bags of chips.
You plan to have 480 competitors so I would assume at least the above if you are far away from a mcdonalds etc where people can run and eat.
The big money is in bottled water, buy for 15 cents sell for $1.00

I would get with coca-cola and have them bring a truck. They sell on consignment so what is not used is not charged. They carry soft drinks, powerade, and bottled water. They can even line you up with ice if needed.

Coach to cut down on the amount of ice you'll need be sure to keep the coolers in the shade. I would also suggest if you have an ice company somewhere near by looking into renting a freezer and buying the ice from them. They might be willing to cut you a deal on ice so you aren't paying $2 a bag and you would have all of the ice on sight. I know for the youth team I work with that is a huge time saver.

I don't see the fuss. Just feed the winners.

I'd suggest the Co-coler thing too. It is a whole lot easier to let them worry about the left overs, and just take the cut they give.
But if you do it yourself, I think John's #s look pretty good. It is hard to tell the first year you run something. Plus if you're in the south make sure your have pickles for sell.

We'd need about 2,000 Indian tacos and 1,000 plates of fry bread in my neck of the woods... And some heavy doses of insulin to go with the cuisine as it basically causes instant diabetes.
