I just cant see the problem. I am very steadfast against recruiting and even against the advantages that private schools have over publics. In this issue, it says that he sent letters to boys who already signed up for the school. They already made up their minds to attend. How is that recruiting?

It sounds like a witchhunt of sorts which might make sense if the academy in question is a powerhouse.

We don't know what went on behind closed doors. This coach (like many private school coaches) could have approached the kids or family. I coach middle school girls basketball as well. On one occassion I saw a private school sitting with parent of a girl on the opposing team giving her literature and talking about coming to another game. I also saw in a different game the head coach of a private school go up to the parents of one of our kids after the game and talk about coming to her school because her team has no height and she could start right now. This coach may not have done anything wrong, but talk to some coaches who play the school and see if they feel that the school doesn't recruit. In Ohio the private schools make a living off of illegal recruiting, one coach was even purchasing houses to move kids into a public school. Therefore forgive me if I seem a little one sided in my opnnion.
