Hey Everyone! I used to play back in high school and in my last year (Gr 12) due to a series of unfortunate events I ended up coaching my team. I ran into a LOT of problems from: trying to find players, to scheduling practices, to registering for Tourneys, to having the admin on my side etc.. It REALLY hectic and chaotic especially since I was trying to manage a good GPA to get into a decent university. So, my question to you all is: What is YOUR biggest problem that you have face/ed as a football coach? And how did you or are you trying to overcome it? - Jordan

getting kids to come out and get/stay eligible (then getting them into the weight room)
plain and simple if you can do the above ^... then you are going to win
School I coach at now is HUGE, 2800 or so kids, loaded with athletes, and I know we will have maybe 30 or so on our varsity team next year. Back in the day they would have 60+ on a team, and I know once we win we will get a ton of kids out... but I know that until we get those kids out it will be hard to win... the old catch 22

What to do with all this extra fame & money and how to manage all of the beautiful 22-25 1/2 year old women that insist on my affections... No one ever prepares you for that part of it.
In all seriousness: Numbers, then commitment.

commitment from fellow staff members. I dont control it, but it frustrates me to no end. Me and another coach are the only ones that show up for the offseason workouts on a regular basis. The rest come and go. practices are a little better, but then there are 20 daddies out at practice. Coaches leave early, come late with no reason. And to top it off, the kids see it, and it shows in their behavior.

Parents
I actually feel like I have 2-3 kids a year that want to be committed but their parents make it hard for them. That on top of all the other problems they cause
