Went to the Glazier Clinic in St. Louis over the weekend and was pretty impressed. There were lots of good speakers but the best ones better ones I heard this weekend were.
Cliff Ice - Webster Groves HS Gunter Brewer - Ole Miss OC/WR Coach (was at Okla St)
Coach Brewer was excellent. He knows his stuff about the passing game. Had fantastic info about the WR position.
Throughout the clinics so far, who have you enjoyed listening to?

Kerry Coombs from University of Cincinnati. He was at the Cincy clinic. He went 3 straight hours non-stop on defensive backs. One of the most energetic speakers I have ever seen.

Tom Buzzo Liberty High School, VA. Talked about Oline play Darin Slack: "I'll take the cool-aid thank you!" Bill O'Boyle: Funny, energetic, demonstrates, loves questions, organized. (oline)

Gunter Brewer was fantastic. My buddies saw his first one on WR releases and I then had to go. I was avoiding him because he named a topic like WR Releases "(Featuring Film on Dez Bryant)"
That last part scared me. I ended up getting 2 DVD's from him. Wish I would have got another.
Besides that, I was disappointed so far. Chicago in February was a let down unless you run the spread offense it felt like. At least the March one in Chicago this weekend features some power run stuff with Wisconsin's OL coach.
I heard Indianapolis had a lot of great speakers, including Coach "Pistol" Prately and Darin Slack, among a lot of others. I couldn't make it though because I couldn't get out of work.

Coach Brewer loves to meet new people. I had the opportunity to meet with him 2 years ago. Every now and then he'll drop me an email. Just a great guy period.
Justin Fuente (OC at TCU) did a great job on gameplanning and breaking tendencies. Talked through the film of the Rose Bowl game. Great presentation.

Brady Walz from Jenks HS was very good and I got quite the kick out of Pat Fox - real high energy guy. A couple of my staff went to see Jim McNally and were blown away by him.

What did Brady speak on? I know him through the DSQA circuit and am just curious what he spoke on? I went to the KC one, but not the STL one. Cornell Ford the DBs coach and Dave Yost the OC at Mizzou were very good, as was Barney Cotton the OL coach at Nebraska, as well as Darrell Morris the HC/OL coach at Nebraska-Kearney.

Pat Fox Milford HS Michigan was amazing. Good stuff, related well to High School I thought Brent Pease was good, but I felt like he was talking to college coaches because there is now way we could do the things he was showing in terms of game planning and motioning, just not enough time. Maybe a few things, which still makes it worth it, but no where near the whole package.

I was in Baltimore and will give Coach Fox another vote for his talk on his offseason program. I was also impressed by David Merritt (NY Giants) and Stan Sexton (I had to say that to keep my job).

Eric Koehler - OC Grand Valley State: GVSU offense, Empty Backfield, Screens, etc. Very engaging for 4 sessions. Darin Slack - I'll drink the kool-aid, too. Chad Hetlet - Glenbard North H.S.: All things Jet offense. Informative, energetic and willing to share everything.
Nice job guys.

Houston Glazier: Mike Price - UTEP: He spoke of general philosophy and qb drills. Funny and upbeat. Good philosophy stuff for us youth coaches.
Tony Johnson - South Grand Prairie High School - Youth speaker: Discussed O-Line progression and Drills. Upbeat, energetic, smart.
Eddie Williamson - OLine coach TCU: Nice guy, energetic and cares for other coaches and his players. Good info and a cool cat.

Chad Hetlet - Glenbard North H.S.: All things Jet offense. He is at Glenbard West, not North. My bad. I didn't have his info in front of me. Chad Hetlet from Glenbard West. Hopefully it isn't too much of a Hatfield/McCoy thing.

I also have to give another vote for Coach Pat Fox. I saw him this last weekend at the St. Louis clinic and he did an excellent job. His talk on tackling fundamentals was great and I really enjoyed his off-season stuff. He said one of his kids excuses for not attending conditioning sessions was because he worked out at the "power-house gym"...Coach Fox replied, "Oh yeah, when is their first game?" I felt his passion for his kids and the game really showed throughout all of his sessions. It's always nice to hear a guy like him speak. One of these days, I really hope to get my hands on some of his defensive videos or just some of his cutups...

Travis Schuster at Glazier in Denver gave 5 great sessions. He is a HS OC in Nebraska, good variety of topics, good presenter, organized and gave great info. The offensive packages he presented were easy to understand and could be added to any high school offense, the way they teach offense at the high school level got ours staff thinking. Got the most out of his sessions in Denver.

Tommy Buzzo from Liberty HS, VA... great enthusiasm. A buddy of mine was friends with him prior. Had a real positive interaction.
David Wilkerson from South Panola HS, MS... hilarious guy! One of the funniest rooms I have been in awhile. Had a great time, and learned a lot.
Also very pleased with Tim Murphy. Took time to answer all the questions... Great system for great athletes..

"Every Wednesday night as a staff we go Turd Fishing. We sit around and watch film of the opponent and try to find the biggest turd we can find." I'll be stealing that one in the future.
