Coaches,
What type of activities do you do during the summer to keep things fun? We have a good group that works hard, but we want to have some more fun with them. Any ideas?

We had a game we played that was great for conditioning and getting the kids running, catching, and throwing. We called it whatever yourmascot is ball, like tigerball or lakerball. Basically its kind like ultimate frisbee with a football. Basically they have 4 downs to get a frist then they have to score, have to get past the half of the field for a first. Its basically snap the ball and anything goes, as many foward, backward, side ways passes as they want everyone is eldigible the down goes till there is an incomplete pass or they are tagged. Its a fun game and the kids get into it. Its nice cuase they are all running, even the linemen are out there catching balls, so it keeps everyone involved and a good conditioner. Hope I explained it so it makes sense its very simple and fun for them every now and then.

We do dodgeball, and that's always a lot of fun. Plus, since we do it indoors, it comes out to be quite a workout. Another really good game, which is kind of like dodgeball, is called Scatter. There's one ball and it's every man for himself. Anyone can pick up the ball and throw it at anyone, and if you get hit you're out. The only catch is you can't move once you have the ball. Lot of running around and agility invovled.
