I heard jgordon speak at the Ocean City Clinic... good stuff! Heading to Nike COY in NoVA this weekend and Baltimore Glazier the following weekend. Am trying to set up a number of staff get togethers... I think there is more value in talking with other staffs about how they do things. It just seems you can find more relevance in what other high school staffs do than listening to college coaches. Thanks for the kind words....You just never know if people liked what you did..

I miss the days where an OL coach would bark at you for 4 hours about how to base block, drag buffons out of the audience to demonstrate, etc. Saw Jim McNally a few years ago at a Glazier Clinic. He spoke for 3 hours about basic fundamentals. Picked a poor guy in the front row (said he was a WR coach, but his HC wanted him to expand on his knowledge) and proceeded to push him around the entire room for those 3 hours. That guy left beaten and drenched with sweat. Awesome session.

My old college coach got knocked of a stage many years ago by Buck.

Does anybody know if there is any precedent for Glazier clinics cancelling due to weather? Our staff is intending on the making the trip the Chicago one this weekend, but given the snow storm hitting the Midwest right now, (Al Roker said this morning that Chicago is expecting two feet in the coming days) I was just wondering if its going to happen.

Here's my two cents:
-Over the past few years I have rarely found a clinic speaker to "wow" me. So, I go into any clinic with the idea that I may only get 1 idea from the whole deal.
- In comparison, I actually get more info from this website vs a clinic.
--I have found over the past couple years that visiting college programs or successful HS programs in my area over spring break has been ten times better than a mega clinic. This allows me to take my whole staff and get a lot of personal attention.

Now, if the airports are closed on the day of the clinics and the speakers can't get in and out that may be a different thing.

Two years ago I was at the Cincinnati Glazier for a Jim McNally presentation and I was his dummy up on stage. It was an awesome experience!
Personally I love clinic season. I just got back from the National Wing T Clinic this past weekend and I'll probably hit up the Detroit Glazier this next weekend.

I attended Burlingame All Sports Clinic last week, and will be going to Glazier in San Jose tomorrow and Glazier Clinic in Reno March 10-12. It's good to get out with the staff and just hear some other perspectives on things.

We headed to ATLANTA this weekend. I agree with what others have said. If you can get one "NUGGET" from each speaker its productive. Most arent gonna completely change schemes based on clinic anyway. The other reason I love them is getting away with staff. We usualy take 1 or 2 sessions and talk about our stuff and what we have got so far kinda thing. It builds comradery and exposes some of my volunteers to more football than they have ever imagined.

Yea I love clinic season as well, good to hear what other coaches are thinking and what some of the better ones have come up with. Gives you a chance to also network and learn some new ideas and concepts of the game.

Disappointed that one of Boise's speakers isn't going to make it, I wanted to hear pretty much everything that he was going to talk about.

Along with early football season, late football season, bowl season, and the thanksgiving season, clinic season is one of the times of year that i absolutely love and look forward to. It makes me feel giddy. It may have already started for some, so hats off to ya. So I guess what im attempting in this thread is kind of an open forum of what clinics you are attending. Im sure there are others on this site also attending those clinics that maybe want to get together. Who knows, maybe you meet a future opponent, an amazing DC you want to hire, a new best friend, a promising young coach from Fresno named pvogel who has amazing drive, passion, a wicked sense of humor, and nawludg, whatever. So I'll start off here by saying that i'm going to the Glazier Clinics February 4-5th in San Jose, and March 4-6 in Orange County. And Maybe Las Vegas Feb 24-26, but probably not. I am also probably going to Cal Poly SLO April 15-16. So If you are going to any of those, or you're in the area shoot me a PM and i'd love to get together. Or if anyone makes their way to Fresno, you are welcome anytime. There is room for sleeping on the floor in my apartment as well. Cal Poly SLO Camp. Coach, I couldnt find info on this camp. Do you know what will be discussed? I live about forty minutes from SLO. Watch them play a couple of times a year would love to go to a clinic there.

Saw Nick Rapone from Delaware at SJ Glazier. Really, really good. If he's speaking at any others, get someone from your staff to sit in.
