Cruising through one of my websites today and found this thread.
I have some books on caching football if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands. The content is at least 20 years old but, perhaps someone can find a use for them as they are no longer usefull to me and it seems a shame to throw them away.
They are as follows:
Coaching Football for Young Athletes – by Tom Capozzoli (paperback) The Boy’s Club Guide to Youth Football – by Edward M. Torba, D.M.D (paperback) The Coach’s Guide to Developing a Passing Attack – by Jerry Howell, Ed. D. (paperback)
The following books are all hardback books.
The Football Coach’s Complete Offensive Playbook – by Homer Smith Attacking Modern Defenses with Belly Option Football – by Al Black & Bill Manlove Run and Shoot Football – by Glenn “Tiger” Ellison Radar Blocking – by Leo Hand Football’s Modular Offense – by John Durham Winning Football with the Air Option Passing Game – by Homer Rice & Steve Moore Counter Attack, Beating Football’s Attack Defenses – by Mike Koehler The Delaware Wing-T, An Order of Football – by H.R. “Tubby” Smith & Ted Kempski Winning Football with the Option Package Offense – by Bob Petrino Bear Bryant on Winning Football – by Paul “Bear” Bryant, Revised and Updated by Gene Stallings
To make a long story short, I responded to this guy and he dropped the books off at my parents house tonight.
I know how hard some of these books are to get.

Nice find. The Delaware Wing-T, An Order of Football is worth quite a bit. The last time I looked I believe it was over $100.

Really - I think the library has it at the university I attend. Maybe I should check it out and then pay the lost book fee. Surely they dont value it at $100. And that Radar blocking book is great from what I have heard.

Yeah I know that Tubby Rayomnd book is very sought after. I know some people were looking for it on bucksweep and said they had found it offered for several hundred dollars. Very Nice find there indeed!

Wow, I didn't know that the Delaware Wing-T an Order of Football was worth that much. I have a copy of the original wing T book entitled, Scoring Power with the Winged T Offense by Forest Evashevski and Dave Nelson. The book was written in 1957. Anybody know what it might be worth?

Wow. You may want to look for a site that appraises antique or old books.

20x,
whom ever the coach was, what a gesture of good will for a coach to give up his collection of books to a coach who is still coaching and learning the game. Good for him!!

I am amazed that this guy gave me his books. Everything went so quick and he was really nice. I would like to meet him and give him something in return. My parents told me he came in and talked football with my dad for a half hour. He sounds like a really nice guy. I can't wait to actually get my hands on the books and take a look.

The delaware wing -t book is worth about $125.00 if its a first edition in good condition with dust jacket. Bear Bryant book is worth about $75.00 or more if first edition with dust jacket. I believe your Homer Smith book complete offense playbook is also worth approx.$65.00 may be a very nice collection. you will have some great reading by some great coaches. enjoy!!

Great jesture. Nice to hear of coaches taking care of others without a thought on the return. Service to others!!! Sounds like you have many cups of coffee and note pads in your future. Glenn Tiger Ellison - Run and Shoot Football is priceless.
