We are looking at ordering some new shoulder pads for our kids and looking to spend about $200 and $250 per pair. Every company claims there's is the best!!! Which is the best, looking at Riddell, Schutt and Douglas, who would you put your option QB in?

We buy a mix of Schutt and Riddell so we can fit kids according to body types etc... Riddell makes a shoulder pad that was developed for option QB's. Air Force asked them to make a pad a number of years ago. You will have to ask your riddell guy about the pad. Douglas makes some damn nice pads as well. Have not had any since I have been coaching high school football, but when I was coaching college football 1/2 our team were in Douglas. Very nice pads!

So... if you had the $ you would buy Douglas? Are they the best out there?

So long as they came from a recognizable brand, I never saw a huge difference between two pads at the same price point.

If money was not an option we would have Douglas shoulder pads.

Talk to you local vendors and see what sort of discounts and deals they can get you. I am partial to Riddell Power Pads but thats just my own opinion.
