what are the lightening bolts on iowa's helmets for? I keep meaning to ask every time I see them play and forget to.

the sticker used to be bigger right on top of the hawk back when hayden was there
ncaa came in and said they couldn't do it
then fresno got away with the giant v on the back of their helmets and iowa put a smaller version back on thiers

Whats the V for on fresno's? I heard it stands for Valley, but what does that symbolize? or even if its correct

The "Valley" where they heavily recruit from.

The green V does stand for "the Valley," referring to California's agriculturally rich Central Valley. That is Fresno St.'s principal recruiting ground, but the V was also adopted to try to establish a more regional identity for Fresno and garner more regional pride and support for the program.
