Anyone else like me and watch this religiously? I wish more analysts did this on ESPN/NFL network. It seems all the FOX/CBS guys mostly just watch highlights. I want more coverage like this. Plus, I usually get lots of ideas from this show. Are there any other shows that are like this?

BTN has a similar show but the name currently escapes me.
Glen Mason and Gerry DiNardo break down certain plays and defenses of conference teams but they do it off of the TV copy so it can be somewhat limited.

Nfl Network has an AFC playbook and NFC playbook series during the season......I haven't had the opportunity to watch it that much this year but it is pretty close to what NFL match up does.....
One thing though....I am not sure if you have any actual game cuts (NFL/college), but you can always look for big plays in those games and see what worked in the scheme and what broke down. You can gain a tremendous amount of knowledge from that point of view.
But...it is also nice to sit down early sunday morning with a cup of coffee when the wife and kids are in bed and just relax to some good entertainment! If you don't have kids yet, you'll know what I mean one day.....

They actually use the coaches film on that show. It's called Behind the Schemes. NFL Network Playbook www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-playbook

i am curious why more networks aren't using FOX's widescreen 16:9 format that allows the viewer to see a 30-40 yard swath of the field (see more than just the tight shot front). That would solve a lot of the 'need' to have the "experts" highlight game situations

That would solve a lot of the 'need' to have the "experts" highlight game situations I think it's because the media markets the NFL much like a soap. Tight close-ups of faces, "Brett Favre vs. Ray Lewis on Monday Night," cameras devoted exclusively to star players, etc. People want to see faces, and in a sport where faces are concealed by helmets tighter shots are used to inject the human element. Plus, if they artificially create the need for "expert analysis" that's more bucks for them. Besides, they know the die-hard fans are gonna watch regardless of the camera angle. It's the casual fans they have to appeal to. As a side note I'm starting to really get annoyed by the camera angles used in football, though. I can't believe more people don't complain about it.

The tbs? or tnt? broadcasts of the NBA playoffs last year allowed you to change camera angle on your computer. It was very, very cool.
Someday that will be something we can do on our TV's for football games I bet. It will revolutionize how coaches watch games, for better and worse.

Are there any other shows that are like this? as somebody else said nfln has afc and nfc playbook show. and just the playbook in which they show you film from the previous week. The big 10 network has a playbookshow on both ends. Plenty of film for free if you are looking for free stuff.
