One of the things I asked about 50-60 youth coaches at the Pop Warner and AYF National championships was about their biggest hurdles to get to Florida. The answer I got that was almost always in the top 3 was money. It costs a bundle to keep a program going and a TON to get flights to Orlando, Hotel, meals etc etc
Ive taken teams to Florida and COMPLETELY understand the problem cost me nearly $50 for 2 teams.
What has worked for you all?
Talk about how much you raised in how short a time period BOTH the winners and the bombs.
Weve done about everything- and in some demographics, some fundraisers work better than others, What we do where I live now is 100% different than what we did when I coached in the hood. What I always looked for was what was going to raise us the most amount of money in the shortest time period with the fewest hassles and least amount of risk. Some worked pretty well, some really stunk. Talk about both and the product/companies that you used.
We did: Raffles Candy bar sales ( they melted on pallet in our unairconditioned warehouse) Sunglass sales Team Apparrel Discount Cards Ticket Books Krispy Kreme discount coupons Cheesecakes- see same problem as Candy Bars Golf Tournament

We come up with 8 questions in 10 categories. (simalar to trivial pursuit) You charge everyone $10.00 to get in and each table is a team of 6 players. Round 1: You ask the 6 questions and each table answers. The answers are gathered, graded and posted. Round 2:.... each right answer wortha point each table can buy points after each round. we charged $5.00 a point. we sell concession and drinks. between odd rounds we have an elimination raffle. Create 10x10 square. sell squares for $5.00. the numbers are pulled out of a box until only 1 square left. winner wins $100. Also, we have 1 item we raffle off. This year we raffled off two tickets to Indianapolis Colts game.
