I thought i'd put together a quick quiz for everyone... Check out the image linked below... There are 8 formations from non-pro set offences... Can you identify all the formations? What type of plays are typically run from these formations?

I can identify all but H. I'm assuming it is another single wing relative just like that of J and G. J looks alot like our punt formation all except the punter is too darn close.

Didn't notice E. was shotgun... And G.. that's Unbalance Single Wing... I hate quizzes.. I think I have test anxiety or something... Better yet, this test is athletically biased!

The blocking back in G should be two gaps over to the left...

Yeah H is definetly the one I have not seen much of. I have only seen something "like" it with a team that ran Single Wing and then late in the year they went to a 4 wide 2 qb shotgun like that....
Great idea of doing this by the way.
I can ID all of them using our verbage which is pretty similar to what others have here...

Good to know that you guys collectively got all of them right, no suprise there. Here are the answers i had.
A Wing T - Jet Sweep, counter B Double Slot, Triple Option C Double Wing (Tight) - Wedge or Power D Maryland I - I Form like blasts and leads etc. E Nevada Pistol - QB in short shotgun, with TB directly behind F Quad Left - refered to as the 'Oop-De-Oop' in the film Varsity Blues i think G Unbalanced Single Wing - Off Tackle, Sweep,Counter H Double Wing Wildcat - Wedge or what Hugh Wyatt who invested it calls X quick off tackle I Houston/Split Back Veer (Triple Option) J Short Punt Formation - Not only to be used 4th down Sweep/Off tackle
Hope you guys had fun doing this and i would like to think that it might of challenged you guys just a little bit. Peace Out
