Couple years ago I was working for a guy who bought books for the team captains...pretty good stuff but I will be darned if I can remember the title or author. It was called "A Captain's Leadership Guide" or something like that. I did a google search but couldn't find anything. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I would like to get some copies for a few of my players for next year.

Outstanding resource to develop leadership within your captains. Coaches general don't teacher leadership skills. Instead they settle for the old "be a leader" phrase and even some of the better captains still struggle to understand exactly what that entails. This book clarifies all phases of leadership. Awesome. It comes highly recommended. JMO.

Just added it to my Christmas list. We struggle with developing leaders most years. This coming year is going to be particularly tough. Thanks for the recommendation.

Our district has paired with a few others over the past few years to have Jeff do full-day leadership seminars. Outstanding. Our AD purchases a copy of the book for each captain.

This book has a lot of very good information. It is well written and very informative. I would also look at some stuff by Bruce Brown.
Bruce did a presentation for our student athletes one year. He was an outstanding presenter.
