Our PAT wings probably needed their own coach, a defense shifted 4 or 5 guys on us, and they didn't move...
After getting yelled at, the D did the same thing, and they all moved, straight into the path of the snap.

I am the Assistant Head Coach on our staff. Basically it means I am second in charge. It also helps that I have been friends with our HC since we were 5 years old and have almost full run of what goes on in the program. I basically told him I wanted that title just so if I sent out emails or films or deal with anyone outside the program it gives me a bit more juice with them That's about it. Along with Ast. HC I am also the DC/OL/DE so I guess I have almost to many titles.

So the question remains to the original poster...Why are they advertising for a Asst. HC job when the OC and DC positions are already filled. All the replys in here by asst. HC's are saying they are also the OC or DC or been on the staff for a while......I'm still wondering what your job would be as an asst hc. Being a new guy on the staff, say as a RB/LB coach and the Asst. HC, but not an OC or DC puzzles me. Would be weird if you have more power than the OC and DC that has been there.

I also think that they may have wanted to "incentivize" me. I am not a teacher in the school, so it's harder for me to coach (in theory) and I end up sacrificing vacation time and even base salary / career opportunity to continue. I think, in a way, they just wanted to "do something nice." I know it sounds goofy, but that's the only other logical reason I can come up with. Fair enough loch. I'm a teacher so scheduling is must easier for me. Teachers don't have the challenges that other occupations face trying to coach. I tremendously respect and admire coaches who do not have everything perfectly lined up for them but still find a way to do what they love to do...coach. I'm sure you're deserving of the incentive with all of the time you've put in as well as the changes to your schedule and career that you've made. No ill intentions with my questions. I was just wondering Coach.

It means "You’re my assistant, OK ... you’re supposed to back me up and get me juice boxes when I tell you, now go get me a juice box."
