...I wouldn't use anything other than Adobe GoLive, which is a program that makes running an in-depth site so easy. Our's isn't perfect, but we like it for what we are doing...we bought the domain, a ton of storage space and some email addresses for less than $100 for the first year, and it's cheaper every year after that. It's www.csdfootball.com Tell me what you think, positives and negatives.

Did anyone else get this message. don't know why that is. i would try to contact the support staff through the site. i think when you register, it must be with a school email address. also, you have to actuallly go to the "site" with your school's name then select register. try this site and see if it helps: varsitynetworks.com/it is the "parent" company of the site i gave you. has more answers and support options, i think

Im not very good at it myself but if you play around with Macromedia's stuff you can at least get something that works. Thats how I did the site for the SBV www.splitbackveerassociation.com I paid something like 55 bucks a year for the hosting, and storage. We will see if thats enough

Get a myspace account for your team. That site would almost be guaranteed to be seen by your whole student body.

Check out our schools myspace page. www.myspace.com/mindenfootballI think there is like over 200 "friends" on there. And the pictures and videos are awesome.

I don't think this is being addressed in the right way. The first question that you have to ask is, 'what is the goal for your website?'
The parameters of your website will depend on the answer to that question.
- Do you have your own domain (www.myhs.com)? - Aimed at parents? Players? Opponents? Recruits? Alumi? Teachers? - How often will it be updated? - Will Video/photos be shared? - How much storage space? - How fast should it load? - Do you need framed pages? - Do you need any advanced technologies? - Do you want your site searchable? - Do you need password protection? - What is the budget? - How soon does it need to be active? - Will you use it to fundraise? - How much information on the site?
Asking what software to use isn't the right question - as you can see by the answers. There is a variety of opinions. And some of the solutions are probably not appropriate for a novice who wants just get something up and will update it twice a year.
