The 38th president, and only unelected president, Gerald Ford passed away today. Please pay your respects to a man that ried to bring honor and normalcy back to the Office of the President after Watergate. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10949314/

Always a strange feeling to lose a president. We show such little respect to our leaders (especially when they are in office). I think a lot of times we finally come to appreciate them once they pass.
They are all flawed just like us, but to put themselves in a situation of some much responsibilty we have to honor them. We should be more thankful for our leadership regardless of ideology.

President Ford was the team MVP at the Univ of Michigan in 1934. The man loved football and everything the game stands for.

I agree coachf. We all hold them up against the greats, such as Washington, Lincoln and Roosevelt. How can they hold up to the ideas we have of these three, who have been shown as heros to our country. And yet they too had their flaws. Doesn't it seem strange that it is the same with some of the Greats in Coaching? Bo, Bear etc.... It is a great loss when we lose one of our leaders.

Another great single wing center gone, in this the 100th anniversary of the offense...although I think President Ford would be happy to see how the single wing is sneaking its way back into prominence at schools like Florida and Alabama...

he did his best to slow down the effects of inflation upon the economy.
he took a very bold stand and pardoned Nixon. I think he did the right thing. I just was hard for the country to accept this. I heard Ford's son explain why his dad did what he did.
guess President Ford used to eat at the U of Michigan training table with the football players when he came to visit, even when he was President.
