We are 2-6 and have had a very rough year. However, the kids are great...they played their asses off all year and we love them as coaches.
What can we incorporate in practice to make this last week fun?
I know, i know, a win would be fun. Realistically though, we have the #2 team in the state coming into town to cap of this wonderous year!

Our kids absolutely love 3 on 3 Oklahoma, so we made sure to do that on the last contact day. Practiced our onside kick more than usual because my kickoff team loved it, for whatever reason. Other than that, we were pretty much business as usual.

Senior hit day...
I am sure you can come up with something for that.

we do this during the playoffs, use it as a step to get ready for the next year.
All the young guns who get called up, plus the JV/2nd teamers participate in this Hootin' and Hollerin' drill called Spider. Basically it is an expanded Oklahoma drill.
Take some bags and make a funnel shaped area that goes for about 20 yards. At the start, the bags are about 4-5 yards apart, gradually they spread out to about 15 yards apart.
at the narrowest end you have an OL vs DL (plus a QB handing off to RB), back from that about 5 yards away, you have TE vs LB, back about 5 more yards, at the widest part (also the goal line) have 2 WRs vs 2 DBs. From the snap, it is like Oklahoma.
Just make sure you have a coach back with the TE and WRs to let them know the ball has been snapped. Great hitting drill that not only has the 1 on 1 for the box, but blocking and tackling in space for the perimeter guys.
And the Seniors like it because they get to do some of the hootin'.

Shark in the Pond: One player starts in the middle. Entire team runs from one sideline to the other, usually between the 20 yard line and 40 yard line. Kid in the middle tackles someone. Whoever he tackles, has to stay out for round two and help make tackles. Rinse and repeat.
Wagon Wheel: Kids all lay down on their stomachs in a large circle. One player starts and runs around the circle stepping over every other kid until he reaches the spot where he was originally laying down, then goes down to his stomach. As the first player (player A) gets up and starts running around the circle...and soon as he runs past the first player (almost immediately), then that player gets up and runs around the circle. Player 2 runs over player 3, then player 3 gets up and runs...player 3 runs over player 4...etc. Rinse, repeat. Love when our 300lb C trips on a butt pad and crashes down on the group.
Deep Passing contest: Split the groups into two teams: Lineman and Backs/Receivers. Have your QBs throw deep passes. One group at a time...Keep track of who gets a catch. Keep score with yellow hats.
Fumble Drill: Get a ton of hand bags, dummies, whatever...have 4 lines, 4 kids at a time. Tell them to turn around. Hide a football at the bottom of the bags. on the whistle, they turn around and crash into the bags looking for the ball.
INteresting thing about some of these "drills"...you get to see some kids in action catching passes, tackling, breaking tackles, that normally wouldn't get the opportunity. It's raise my eyebrows a few times.

Don't know about most of you but by the last part of the season we do very little live hitting- thud mostly, to many kids going both ways who do not need to be hitting a bunch during the week and the need for us to stay healthy as depth is a concern so we have done Whopper eating contests and things like that- they love it and no ones getting hurt (go for time seeing who can eat the most may result in an "injury" as well it'll cost a fortune.

Relay races. Split the whole team into even groups. Each group has a football. Player #1 runs 20 yards with the football, puts it above his head and spins around 10 times. Then he has to punt it back to his teammate. Repeat until last player has punted it back.
Not a whole lot of football value, but a fun light hearted drill that makes for a good laugh.

We split into two teams and have a scrimmage using college OT rules. The kids have fun with it. Coaches are refs.
For conditioning that day we give everyone the chance to kick a PAT (off a kicking T...just goes faster) We run a 40 for every one missed. Kids LOVE that one!

We had a pretty fun one when I played in college, all the seniors would line up and catch a touchdown pass from the coaches/qb and then we would have a competition for the best choreographed touchdown celebration. Seeing a 300 lb offensive tackle try to do the worm makes for a good time, because as dubyah said IT"S FUNNY BECAUSE HE"S FAT
