I've gotten good at this line by now in my career.... for me / us..... New offense with tons of reps, simpler terminology, more multiple, and more efficient passing game (with a few better athletes) THAT, and the team 'last season' was in the bottom 15% in all statistical categories in the league.

More experience...we return all 5 OL, QB, 2 WR's, and TB...We need a new FB, and TE, but we should be better just because of maturity.

Experience on the Offensive with 3 returning linemen, leading rusher and 2 athletic, fast backs at wing. (compared to 2 offensive starters returning this year). Offensive adjustment by moving best athlete to QB with more reliance on the run resulting in fewer turnovers (18 picks graduating).
That's the new company line.

Experience. Lot of new starters this year coming back. Oh, and we probably won't change our offensive philosophy 3 weeks into the season.

Well, we graduate a ton of seniors, but I always think positive. We return 4 offensive lineman; three of them were full time starters, the other one was the top sub and started 4 games due to injuries. Our freshmen class has several members that will be ready to contribute next year and their athleticism should balance out the effect of losing all of our seniors. That's what I'm going to tell myself all offseason anyway! ;D

We return 18 of 22 starters. The exact opposite of this year when we returned 2 of 22 starters. Experience should make a big difference....and HGH

Starting QB returns, 3 returners at OL, 8 starters on defense, plus graduating a couple of egos and replacing them with great kids (will be sophs.). Hopefully adding another full time teacher-coach in the building.

Returning all 4 backfield mates ( all will be juniors) and only losing seniors. FB, and both wings went over 1200 yards. Defense that started off giving up 30+ a game gave up only 6 per in the final three weeks. Those 5 sophmores and 1 freshman I started on D will be one year older with a ton of experience, led by the Free Safety who has been nominated as an All-State candidate.

We're graduating the "thugs" and can actually work with those who know what it takes to win...

We graduate 5 seniors, what makes this season so frustrating, is we have the regions top passer, top WR, and 2nd leading rusher!!!They will all return, along with most of our core players, they need to get stronger, or we will have the top "stat" guys but no wins....

Only losing 1 impact player to graduation this year. Seniors and juniors next year are loaded.

Why will we be better???
I can say that the program is taking steps in the right direction since the HC and myself took over 2 years ago.
I can say that our kids will be stronger next year due to increased dedication to the weightroom.
Thr real reason is that our Sophs are 17-1 in the past two years and out frosh team is 9-0. Also the younger brothers of the Sophs and Freshman are in 7th and 8th grade and are on pace to win the Youth level superbowl.
To make a long story short...we have horses coming up...and you become a lot better coach when you have the Horses to compete.

We started 2 (and at times 3) very talented but inexperienced sophomores on our offensive line. We also have a junior two-way lineman who is very good coming back. We have a junior QB who is very athletic and saw decent trigger-time this year, but was not a starter. Our FB and TB are both back, as are a couple of other backs that we've rotated through. We lose our lightning fast multi-purpose guy (WB, WR, TB), but we have a young, athletic sophomore in the mix that contributed this past season. TE is back, and we have 800,000 split ends (and NO, I refuse to run the "spread offense" just because we have so many WR's!!)
On defense, we get 2 ILB's back (Junior and Sophomore, neither of which started last season), 2-out-of-3 DL back (none of THIS year's DL had any experience), and our strong side DE who already has 2 full years of starting experience. We lose both safeties, but we have 2 good CB's returning. We have a kid that has shared in the kicking / punting duties all season and has shown tremendous improvements as a Sophomore.
From a coaching / program standpoint, we have the following going on:
1. Putting in a "leadership training" program for our seniors during the off-season (I hope).
2. Simplify the offense (even more than it is now) and focus on having confidence in our assignments and fundamentals.
3. Work even more on tackling and block destruction
4. This will be the 2nd year since our "Jr. High" feeder program (with no weight limits) has been in place, so we'll be seeing upcoming sophomores who should have benifited from that.
Besides, at this point, we HAVE to be better!!!

Since this was our first year in our offensive and defensive schemes, we will be more comfortable in the schemes next year. Also, we return our whole OL except for center and right tackle along with our QB, and we return five key defensive starters as well. Additionally, our kids are working hard in the weight room, which wasn't the case before I got here.
This year's team surprised many people by going 5-4 and just missing the playoffs, and all four of the teams that beat us are in the playoffs. That has left our returning players very HUNGRY for next year.
Honestly, the future looks very good.

Because we will return 20 of 22 starters. The only starter both sides of the ball is the same kid. I installed a new offense(spread gun/ option) this year and the head coach installed a new defense(3-5) another year under the belt always helps out.

Returning 26 Seniors in 2007, majority of them are starters. The key returners are 4 on the OL, a QB, TB, FB, DE,and 2 LBers
As for this year, we lost 3 in a row, with two games remaining (4-4,1-3). It will be an up hill battle to reach the 500 mark (these next two weeks).
