Someone pointed out earlier that they are ar B league team right? I guess if they've been dominating for a few years now, it seems the simple solution would be to bump them up to the A league. I don't think that is how it works in this case. The person who said they are a Class B school mentioned that St. Georges is a Class C school. However both schools participate in the ISL. Got to remember this whole thing is probably structured pretty differently than most of us are familiar with.

Quit? How does that happen? They had one of the most famous high school coaches in the country. A former pro who came in and brought a staff of former big names with him. Every single person on his staff was either a bigtime D-1 player or a pro athlete at one time. They made promises up and down that they were here for the long haul etc. Their kids went 0-10 their first year and were REALLY bad. We scrimmaged them not even knowing what offense they were going to run and put up 28 points on our first four offensive plays and they never got a first down even against our JVs. Before the season was over the big name assistants had already started to quit. The last day of the season the HC publicly stated how he was still in it for the long haul. A week later he was gone to take a professional position and when the next year came around their roster had no seniors or juniors on it at all.

Got to remember this whole thing is probably structured pretty differently than most of us are familiar with. Again, this is an issue that the ISL governing body has to sort out. I do disagree with those that are calling St. George 'quitters'; there is an issue here. However, the way it is being handled is wrong. IMO, the statements coming out of St. George are slanted; they're afraid of their kids getting hurt, but that athletics aren't the priority in the school (i.e. the league) and that Lawrence is violating that ideology. Just come out and say it; the schools in the ISL don't like what Lawrence is doing. Again, there's good reasoning here. These schools are prestigious academic institutions; that is the highest priority. But, don't come out into the media and say that your afraid your kids are going to get hurt and use that as your campaigning platform against Lawrence. Present the facts that have been posted on this board; Lawrence is a school of around 350 kids, yet they're spitting out DI athletes every year and have more top 25 MA prospects than anyone in the state. Call them out as a football factory but don't toss your players in the middle of it. This whole thing would've been resolved a lot quicker had the schools in the league sat down and agreed to cancel their games against Lawrence. Honestly, it's obviously common knowledge that Lawrence is pulling this crap and it has been for awhile. The schools have been upset about this school for awhile now; something should have been done a long time ago and the media shouldn't have been involved. Having the media involved has made a mess of the whole thing especially given the fact that it's JUST St. George that's coming out publicly. I don't hear any of the other schools piping up; it's not a league issue now; it's a St. George-Lawrence problem.
