Youth Football Coaches brawling tinyurl.com/37qktvd Doubt this is a one time problem-Pattern that needs to nipped in the bud early Started when a coach trying to "protect" one of his players shoved another player 5 yards off of him- Read the story and comments, then the opposing teams coaches went into "protect" mode- and rioted- including sucker punches etc Great role models for the 11-12s they are coaching

I find this both deplore able & sickening. I always believed we as youth coaches have to hold ourselves to higher standard. First the block wasn't dirty, the player being blocked left his feet before contact. Second, if it had been a dirty shot, that's what the refs are there for. I guarantee this is a direct product of "Daddy Ballers".
You & I both know how hard we work to make our teams play above that level, only to have the reputation ruined by some clown who wears a whistle. It angers & frustrates me. Trust me, I too want to win, but never act the poor sport or make excuses. Anytime I have been beaten I swallow my emotion for the moment & walk across the field to congratulate my opponent.
What values can you teaching 11-12 y/o's with such foolish behavior?
