We won 44-14 this week to go to 5-0 on the season. First team defense has yet to be scored on, gave up just a single first down for second week in a row. We were 5-8 passing for 146 yds and 2 scores in the first half- game went to mercy rule running clock- no passing in the second. Teams have a choice- freeze score and go regular clock or go running clock and scores still count. 12 different kids carried the ball, all 4 starting backs scored.
However we did commit our first turnovers of the season- 2 of them, Int on pass our 2&3 did a poor job of blocking the playside DE and another on a counter- good hit, not the best ball protection. Only 15 yds in penalties and we gang tackled well against a not so good team we were very merciful with.

Blue Devils beat the Ramblers again, this time 21-0 at SUNY Maritime College, with heavy appl'n of mercy rules and unofficial mercy against us. Our 4th TD in the 1st half was called back because we were supposed to sub our entire offensive backfield once we got ahead by 18 (which we knew), even in the 1st half (which we didn't know), so the carry was by a then-ineligible back.
We had a balanced-line version of beast formation used, left and right, by the Ramblers, who unfortunately for them were bad at snapping the ball and receiving the snap. Our star DE's mother had a situation necessitating Coach Brutus's fetching him, but not before he had to sit out the 1st half for arriving late. Mr. Short Att'n Span got a sore nose somehow during pre-game warmups and decided to sit out the game; he had a cold anyway, which probably produced the sore nose.
