This is why our league requires original birth certificates now. No copies.

Bummer. I was hoping when I opened the link to read an inspiring story about a mentally and/or physically retarded person fulfilling a dream, but it's just a cheating con, maybe a perv. "Obstruction by a disguised person" -- good one!

DC
It never fails to amaze me the level people will sink to. I read the account on yahoo this morning. One thing is that youth orginazation really was going to lengths to check him out. This wasn't a coach conspiring with him to cheat. It scares me to think some one would actually try this.

Back in 1992 (before I started coaching), an organization in my old league had a 15 yr-old playing Mitey Mite!! He got caught when one of the traditional powerhouses got run over by this kid and his team (a traditionally weak program). They hired a private investigator that tailed the kid going to and from his high school! I can only imagine the looks on the faces of the various league adminstrators when they saw the documentation/photos showing that this Mitey Mite player was, in fact, a high school student. Thank God this kid didn't maim or cripple any other kids while he was playing. It almost destroyed that program - they had recruiting and financial problems for 10+ years following that incident, but now they are a pretty strong program. Unbelievable stuff - the things people will do to win a few youth games.

How low must a grown man's self-esteem be to play football against barely pubescent kids? Wow, what a loser.

This is just wrong......heres a lighter, funnier version of a similar story......several years ago when I was an asst coach at a small private HS.....the boss had planned the days practice around spending a good bit of it, running his offense "live" against a scout defense, to get ready for the coming jamboree.....well, a bunch of the kids were out that day, can't remember why....but the bottom line was me and a younger coach, in his early 20's, volunteered to play on the scout defense to make 11.....he played in the secondary(which he also helped coach) and I played DE, since I was the fatter, slower of the two of us,lol.....so I'm all excited, that I actually get to play a little real football, albeit with no equipment and pretty much just using my hands to defend myself and in the event I actually got a chance to make a tackle, I was just gonna hold the guy, maybe pick him up off the ground a little, but not get too rough with any of the kids.......well, these guys came at me with reckless abandon......took all my effort to hold my own playing d-line......it was like payback time for all those brutal practice's they went thru......man it was rough....plus from smoking for 30 years, I spent a lot of time between plays gasping for air between fighting for my life....but in spite of everything, I made it thru nearly the entire practice game unscathed and felt pretty good about myself being able to hang in there....that is until I took a facemask to the forehead and started bleeding like a stuck pig........I think it took the boss a few more plays, to realize my tee shirt wasn't red when we started and I was actually bleeding pretty good, so he called it a day......the kids were good sports about it and all told me good job, way to go coach, tried to make me feel good, the liars, lol.....and I thanked them for letting me play with them.....cause I really did enjoy the heck out of it.....anyhow, the next morning I could barely walk......my gashed up face hurt.....I hurt in places I'd forgotten could hurt......that was my last football game.....I've titled the name of this thread= "51 yr old plays football with high school team" and comes out on the bad end.

God only knows how, but when it occured to me that my wife was smaller than our upcoming opponent, I convinced her to play scout team fullback and then she played scout nose. Not just bumping, but some pretty good violence. She got pretty bruised up, but she enjoyed it, so the next week I put her at guard and ran traps.
