Maybe they have Red jerseys and are hoping to blend in and use deception to their advantage?

I thought the NCAA only allowed green turf. Boise, I thought, was grandfathered in.

Also, don't you think that would be a really hot surface? Red can't be a reflective color. I think that in september day games that would be real hot.

It's a marketing ploy.
Ea Wa school. They saw the pride and "brand recognition" it gave Boise St. They copied the idea.
It's not against the rules.
I've been to Boise and have been down on the field. Not my cup of tea, but you get used to it. I know that Boise coach prefers green, but he knows what the fans and boosters prefer. So he goes with the flow.

Oh. I thought it was going to be a field made of broken glass. Or even unbroken glass. This one is just my favorite color. As long as it makes good contrast with whatever ya gotta see.

Wow! That's... freaky. If they play in all red, that would be pretty sweet.
I thought this was going to be a "worst field you've ever been on" thread. I guess a red turf field beats the one I played on that had craters, boulders, metal pipes, and even pieces of an old building's foundation poking out of the grass.

big red pimple on the face of football...but I guess, if there is indeed no rule, it's their money.

I think it's kind of cool, but I do worry about how hard it would be to watch a day game there.

I like it. We were talking about a blue field until we saw how much more it would cost. I see no reason why a team whose colors are not green would put in a green turf field other than cost. Not sure why red would be any hotter than green. Although I might make the visitor sideline black and mine white. =) Oh and: Oh and it works too for a recruiting tool. We've got a kid who can play at a much higher level than D3 and he was looking at University of New Haven just because of the blue field...

I got an English degree from EWU, so I are smart.
I didn't like the idea a whole lot at first, but seeing it in person this summer won me over.

It's like playing on Mars....If it doesn't effect the fans watching the game during day games then I don't see a problem with it.

I would hate to watch the game in the stands or on game film.
